The developer of a large block of units had requested EDM assist in the remediation of defects raised by the strata’s engineers. There were reports on building defects, hydraulic defects & fire defects which EDM assessed and remediated. EDM worked hand in hand with a BCA consultant in assessment of what was considered a defect & best approach to deal with strata. There were defects repaired including fire rating, waterproofing, rustproofing fire stairs, hydrant system repairs, exposed reinforcement repairs, mechanical issues, electrical defects & plumbing defects. EDM assisted the developer in avoiding a major claim against them by making the necessary repairs in a timely manner.
